The Purge

  I do not normally talk of movies on my blog, but the movie The Purge truly bothers me. 

  It's set in the near future, a future in which the US Government decides that a purge, a  period of time in which all emergency services are suspended and pretty much all crime is all legal, is what this nation needs to keep crime low.

   The scary thing is that there are people in our society today that think a purge would be a good thing.  Considering we live in a nation where the NSA is listening in on our phone calls, and reading our emails,  and the IRS targets Conservatives,  it would not surprise me that a future Liberal President convinces his followers, his brain dead minions that such a stupid thing would be a good idea.

   For the record, it would not be a good idea in any way shape or form.  Suspending all laws for any period of time would welcome Anarchy and Anarchy is never a good thing. 

   Again while I know there are some Americans out there that would love to give Anarchy a try and really think we need Anarchy.  Anarchy is sheer lawlessness and would be nothing but total chaos and nothing more.

  Yes I know this is a movie.  And yes most likely this will never occur.  But not so long ago most Americans believed that its government would not spy on their phone calls, Use the IRS to punish you for your political opinion or even believe it is ok to shoot an un armed American.  Something that Eric Holder an agent of the Obama Administration hemmed and hawed at before answering.

    We must truly watch ourselves in the next two years.  Things may get even more wild as we go forward.
